Some recent purchases and an awesome Wilco concert

I just bought an iPod (finally!) the other day and I’m loving it. So far I’ve got about 2000 songs on it which is a pretty good chunk of my cd’s. Rhonda and I have been taking a lot of road trips so it’s been great to have. If you have the means and haven’t picked one up yet, I highly suggest getting one… it’s so choice! Also, with the release of iTunes 4.9 I now have podcasting which is VERY cool. I’ve subscribed to John Piper’s radio program and my buddy Derek Webb will soon have some interviews/performances up on it. Should be cool. And lastly, I’m going to be purchasing a new Fender Tele soon and will also be building a new pedal board (probably over the rest of the summer). If there’s one thing I love it’s new gear! I’m going to be selling some stuff on ebay soon (Pod and pedal board, Fostex recorder and maybe a guitar). I think I’ll sell it all for about $200 each… if anyone is interested, drop me a line.

In other news, Rhonda and I went with some friends to a Wilco concert sunday night. Stinking amazing! They’ve been one of my favorite bands for a while and that show just confirmed it. They played 25 songs (3 sets) from all of their albums (including airplane to heaven from mermaid avenue) and two covers… Bob Dylan’s I shall be released being the highlight for me. If they’re anywhere near you, go see them… you won’t regret it!

I’ve got a bunch of other stuff to post but I think I’ll save that for next time… it’s dinner time and I’m one hungry little camper. Not to mention it’s starting to storm and I’m sure the power will go out. So before it does, I’ll say goodbye.

Grace and peace
Joe
