Why is it so dark in here?

Here I am, sitting on my couch with all the lights out because our power decided to skip town during a storm. It’s been off a while and I can almost sense all the food going bad in my fridge. Oh well, at least it’s quiet. Hopefully the power will stay on this weekend! (For those of you who don’t know the story, the first time I opened for Jeremy all the power in town went out… right as I walked on stage. I think God was telling me to retire my guitar!)

Anyhoo, I’m trying to figure out what songs to play this weekend, which is always a pain. I have plenty of songs but I have to pick out 5 or 6 for an opening set and I can never make up my mind. I’m usually very decisive but when it comes to set lists, I’m a wreck. Maybe I’ll just wing it. I am excited about this weekend though, Jeremy is always great to have in town and it’s been a couple of months since I last played. I’ve been itching to get back out there!

Well, that’s about it… it’s been almost a half an hour and the power is still out. Apparently, Delaware runs all of it’s power with a Hamster on a wheel and he just took a LONG smoke break. Stupid hamster. Maybe I’ll light a candle and go catch up on some reading or something. Be good to each other!

Grace and peace,
Joe

Summer’s heading out the door!

This summer has been a blast, full of traveling, theme parks, the beach and house work (ok, that part isn’t fun). Rhonda and I took a couple of road trips and enjoyed the freedom that iPod brings us (4000 songs to pick from!). We also went with some good friends up to Six Flags and Hershey Park and except for the face of the sun-like heat, it was more fun then anyone should be allowed. Also, a couple of weeks ago we had a new patio poured at our house so we’ve been grilling like crazy people. In between all of that we’ve gone to many, many Orioles games (they were doing so good, dangit!) and spent a few days down in Chincoteague, VA for our anniversary. When we were at the beach down there we saw 4 dolphins swimming in the waves off shore and then jumping out of the whitewater… it was like they were putting on a show! Once again, much fun was had by all.

So now summer is nearly over because Rhonda is heading back to school to teach and I’m… well, I’m doing the same thing I always do, next to nothing! Actually, Jeremy Casella and I have been trying to book a few dates together and I should have those up ASAP. I was also going to play a show here with Derek Webb but that seems to be pushed back to Febuary-ish. Hopefully this will prove to be a busy fall and I hope to see all you kind folks at a show or two. Thanks for stopping by!

In Christ alone,
Joe
