Let’s see, what else? I’ve been on a sort of diet since early last year. Lost about 50 pounds so far… mostly from just giving up fast food, sodas and eating better. Go figure. Might try to lose another 20, it’s gone well so far so why not.

My Orioles are terrible… let’s just leave it at that and all look forward to NFL season. Yikes.

I had pneumonia during a double blizzard earlier this year. I was not a fan.

Other than a few shows here and there, I haven’t been playing out too much. I’ve been mostly working on the music for our church and doing plenty of songwriting on the side. If there is a new record on the distant horizon (and I hope there is!), I’m very excited about the early work so far. I might play a few shows this summer locally and maybe a couple this fall. If that all works out, I’ll definitely be playing a few new songs to get a feel for them all. I also upgraded some home studio equipment for demos and finally got a new laptop (hence the updating!). My old powerbook G4 started sounding like an asthmatic banshee so it was time to send it to Grandpop’s farm.

Oh, my friend Aaron and I played at a Memorial Day picnic… rocked out a little Tom Petty, Radiohead, Wilco, Journey and Miley Cyrus. Yup, I nodded my head like “yeah”. It was EPIC.

So that’s a tiny bit of what’s been going on in Bassett Land this past year… just finding truth and beauty in the day to day. Thanks for sticking around!
