When The World Seems So Dark

I can feel a cold hand that keeps leading us on
The ghost of a memory that we wish stayed dead and gone
It;s like a cloudy sky that hides the rising dawn
When the world seems so dark, yeah the world seems so dark

It’s never as easy as simply wrong and right
When you can either turn your cheek or stand up and fight
Cause it’s the gray in between that keeps me up at night
When the world seems so dark, when the world seems so dark

And I’ve seen that snake in the grass that’s been biting at our heel
From the fall of man to every dirty handshake deal
Just like black smoke rolling across a dead man’s field
When the world seems so dark, when the world seems so dark

This dust on my shoes, it just won’t come off
And these reflections in my eyes, are they telling truth or lies
I just don’t know anymore, I just don’t know anymore
I just don’t know anymore, I just don’t know anymore

The static and the noise rattle enough to wake the dead
From all the front page headlines painted in red
And we just pray that there’s a little light up ahead
Cause the world seems so dark, yeah the world seems so dark
