Serenity now!

I can’t wait to go see the new movie Serenity tonight. I was a huge fan of the series Firefly and was really bummed when it got cancelled (no thanks to Fox airing the series out of order!!). However, thanks to a lot of dvd sales and Joss Whedon (the shows creator) never giving up on it, now we have a movie to look forward to. Yay! Check it out and enjoy some overpriced popcorn, it’ll be worth it!

Have a good weekend!

The Great Snake War of Aught 5

Let me start by saying that I’m terrified by snakes, I mean, seriously terrified. I think it was an incident when I was a kid and now I can’t stand seeing them (even on TV!). So Rhonda and I were doing yard work the other day and she came across a snake (probably a garter snake). Did I try to move the poor little guy without hurting it? Nope, I tried to weed whack it! The sucker got around my fence though so I took a shovel to it. The end… or so I thought.

Apparently before his death, he called for backup because just the other day I ran into 4 more. I killed two (with a lawn mower, I don’t mess around!) and two got away. I was so freaked out that I could barely walk through the yard without thinking I was going to get swarmed. That night I couldn’t sleep because I kept dreaming of snakes attacking me. At this point, rereading this post… I think I may need professional help! That costs money though so I will continue to wage a one man war against the snakes of Delaware to ease my mental suffering.

So what can be learned by all of this?

One- I have no frogs around my house due to the snakes.
Two- snakes like to stick around after a frog buffet.
Three- I am a complete wuss when it comes to snakes and may need professional help.
Four- lawnmowers cut real good (just keep your toes out or you could end up like Andrew Osenga!)
And Five- when scared I scream like a little school girl.

Hurricane (yet again)

Once again, a hurricane is closing in on the states and once again, it’s a powerful one. Keep New Orleans (which is in danger of re-flooding) and Houston (along with the surrounding areas) in your prayers. I have some friends in the Houston area and I’m hoping they’ll get out okay. I just heard on Fox News that it went from a category 5 to a 4 but that is still insanely stong. So please lift up all of these folks in prayer when you get the chance.

The Devil created infomercials

I’m up late (yet again!) and wasn’t really paying attention to the TV. I looked up when I heard that Keven Trudeau guy saying that everything (including cancer) can be cured with natural medicine, I just about kicked my TV in. He was taking phone calls on an infomercial that is NOT EVEN STINKIN’ LIVE! Ugh, what a joke. And now a second one has started where he’s the “guest” on a “talk show” that isn’t really a talk show. I mean, c’mon… people are actually being suckered in by this guy but he’s a fraud and a crook! After attending a 19 year old girl’s funeral today, the last thing I want to hear is how her cancer could’ve been “cured” by his book with secrets about magic plants or something. BAH! I’m feeling a bit of righteous anger coming on!

With that rant out of the way, I’m heading to bed to dream of kicking this guy in the shins. G’night!

Just a note

Hey all, I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night! Jeremy and I both had a great time and we hope that you all did as well. We’ll be playing again on October 21st in Quarryville, PA with the awesome Eric Peters, more news on that (and another show or two) as it gets a little closer.

Also, Jeremy is donating all of the money from merchandise sales on his site through September 16th to the Red Cross. So not only can you get some great music but more importantly, you can help out our neighbors in the Gulf Coast area. It’s a great idea and very cool of Jeremy to think of it.

And in case anybody needs it, here’s a list of disaster relief organizations if you’d like to make a donation through one of them.
